Airbnb homes are a bellwethers of scarcity/unworthiness or abundance/worthiness

The more you give to yourself,
the more abundance you experience,
and the more you give to others.

My mobile adventure started on June 30th. I launched my book, Savvy Woman in 5 Minutes a Day: Make Time for a Life That Matters, put my belongings in storage, and am living a mobile life until the end of the year.

Since June 30th, I have stayed in six Airbnb’s; four in the US, and two in Portugal. Each one tells me about the owner’s thoughts and beliefs.

In one Airbnb, there was barely enough dish liquid to wash a sink full of dishes or enough laundry detergent to do one load of laundry. There was one very small towel per person. There were two plates and square coffee cups that were impossible from which to have my morning coffee without spilling it. This is the thought system of scarcity.

The Thought System of Scarcity and Unworthiness

The world believes in the thought system of scarcity and unworthiness. Advertising has perfected it through quantity-related scarcity: only two seats left and the last day to buy.

Booking.com shows: “booked twenty-six times today.” Amazon lists: only two left in stock. The Bumble dating app has a countdown timer: you have twenty-four hours to respond to a prospective date or the match disappears.

My next Airbnb was a basement apartment. It contained a refrigerator stocked with butter, condiments, beer, water, frozen meals, coffee, jam, apples, and yogurts. There were piles of plush towels, and a hand-written card that thanked me for my business.

This Airbnb host comes from a thought system of abundance and worthiness. It leads to mindful success.

Mindful Success is intentionally choosing your thoughts and actions every day. It is consciously choosing to have more faith in abundance and worthiness than in scarcity and unworthiness.

This thought system leads to the freedom to choose balance in giving and receiving, between work, family, and self-maintenance, between being and doing, and increased present-moment awareness—increased tolerance with the unknown, increased curiosity, and decreased judgment.

How to practice Mindful Success

  • Buy yourself a croissant and enjoy every bite.
  • Give yourself an extra 15 minutes of reading time before you do your chores or going to work.
  • Receive love in ways that nurture you so that you can give from a place of fullness.

Practice the daily exercises in my book. They will strengthen your ability to choose the thought system of abundance and worthiness more often than not.
